Portfolio: Animation
(Click a still on the right to watch a movie - movies are 192 x 144 pixels, Sorenson Video compression, 15 fps. Viewing requires Apple's Quicktime 4.0 or better.)
After a couple years of self-taught 3-D modeling, I got to take a few classes on it as well as animation. It was then I made my first short movie - that of one of my "Sleepy" cartoon people playing with a yo-yo. This file is sadly lost, it seems, and so I only have my second movie (and, I guess, first "real" one), "Creation," and those that followed.
My courses in 3-D modeling and animation centered on Strata Studio Pro for modeling and Adobe Premiere, and I've grown not just familiar with but also rather fond of them. Sure, there were the several (too many) times where Premiere seemed to lose track of all the source files for a movie composition project and I'd have to re-do 4 hours' worth of work (sometimes multiple times on a single project, and with the deadline for finishing being sometime later that day). Then there were the usual computer crashes...
Suffice to say, I got used to living in the computer labs on campus for entire weekends, taking up an entire row of high-powered machines and eating dinner or napping during the longer rendering jobs. Fun stuff. I remember those days quite fondly; I hope there will be more of them.
