Portfolio: Sketches
(click an image on the right to enlarge)
I have this habit of not completely filling my sketchbooks. I get down to about 5 - 10 blank pages left and I think, "I'd better get a new sketchbook." Then I get the sketchbook, and my little "tradition" - always drawing something in the new sketchbook within a day of picking it up - takes over, and I never go back to finish the last.
In any case, I have quite a number of old sketchbooks piled up, and every so often I get a kick out of going through them all (I usually try to go in order; there're only a few places where it's harder to tell or remember). Believe me, there's plenty of bad in some of those, and then there are a number of real gems. Some of the latter are here.
The most common sketches are the many drafts and revisions of characters, objects, and places in my continually-developing "Sli'Pi ro Nara" story. There are a fair number of cartoons, too, and figure studies. Then once in a while I'll just end up doodling something abstract. A lot of my notebooks ended up that way; sure, I was interested in physics, but I'd still get to wandering...
In short, what's here is just a little sample.
